The Land Rover

Here's a few pics of the Land Rover. We took it down to the Children's Home yesterday for all the kids see it; they were so excited. Such a blessing that someone donated this to the Home, God is good! Getting the children to church was a lot easier that's for sure, usually we squeeze them all into our truck, so they all had more elbow room today with both of the vehicles.

We prayed over the truck, dedicating it to the Lord. Then the kids did a little dance around... we will try to post a video of it on the website.

container update/praise

Praise the Lord, Jake and Tim got the container out of the port yesterday, the Land Rover and everything inside is fine. They will be back tomorrow, today they were running around finishing up all the paperwork for the truck, so huge praise!!! They did come back for the weekend so got to see Jake for a couple of days but it will be soooo nice to have him home again.

On another note, we have a team here from Michigan right now, they are a great group, they have got lots of painting at the Children's Home done. Also spent a lot of time just playing and reading to the kids, really awesome. They also bought a new blanket for each child plus lots of other goodies. I will post pics once I get a bit more time

Container update

Jake and Tim are still in Yaounde, they spent the week in difference offices there, trying to get paperwork signed for the 50% tax exoneration for the container coming it. They were hoping it would only take a day or two but now they will have to stay there till Monday till the last paper gets signed. Then they head to Douala to go to the port and start that whole process. So please keep them in your prayers, that all goes smoothly. They need to get it out by the end of Friday or we'll start getting charged a large fee for everyday it sits in the port. So looks like Jake will be gone for another week.

Other than Jake being gone, all is going good here. I do miss having a vehicle, that's for sure. Even walking down to the orphanage and back (only about a mile away) takes it out of me with Jude on my back. It doesn't help that it is super hot right now and extra dusty! We haven't had rain for over two months (not a drop!), I guess that is why it's called dry season :). Anyway, not to complain, it just makes me appreciate my husband (and vehicle) even more :).

For the new year, we decided to divide up the older kids and younger kids for Kid's Club (Tuesdays and Thursday). We still do singing together and then go to seperate classes. Sue Born has taken over the younger kids and I've got the older ones. We are going a lot more in depth, learning how to use the bible plus memorizing the books of the bible. A lot more discussion is going on. It has been going fantastic, they are learning so much already in just a couple of weeks.

BTW, felt the baby kicking the last week or two! We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat at the last dr.'s appointment, very exciting. I am now past the halfway point, yeah! I should be having an ultra sound at the end of the month to see what it is, can't wait!

QUICK UPDATE

Just a quick post. Jake and Tim headed to Yaounde and then onto Douala today. The container with the donated Landrover came into the port yesterday so they are heading down there to get it out. It's always a long, tedious process with everyone asking for bribes (Jake's done it two times before). Please pray that all goes smoothly, that they have favour with whoever is processing the container and that it all stays at minimum cost (we have already got a 50% tax break, ptL!). Will keep you updated as I hear from Jake, hoping he will be back by weekend.
